Was the DeLay indictment a false alarm?

Must be—DeLay says he's innocent! Call off the investigation! Corruption in government? Impossible!

It's obvious you have not taken the time to even read the indictment document as it does not even spell out what Mr. Delay is charged with let alone any evidence of anything that Democrats have not been just as guilty of. And by the way, this roque DA with a definite agenda has indicted political opponents on at least 3 other occasions and on each one his case was thrown out of course.

So, Have you read the indictment? Or are you jsut relying on what you've been told?

Ah, yes—the right-wing smear campaign has already begun. You accuse me of not having read the indictment, which is true—I can't find a copy of it anywhere. However, you don't seem to have read it, either. And besides, if you'd bother to read the links I provided, you'd see some of the specific charges that DeLay is being indicted on. Are you lazy? Or just stupid?

Oh, and about the indictment not containing evidence: why would it? Evidence is what you bring up in a court case to pardon or convict. An indictment is just a charge; the conviction is what says whether you're guilty or not. What you're saying is too stupid even to be Republican talking points. You're just standing by your man, aren't you?

Finally, as to Steve Earle: go to his web site and see for yourself. I don't know where you're getting your smear information about these alleged political indictments you're mentioning. You'd better reread your talking points; that's just sloppy. Or provide me with a link—if one even exists. Reliable sources only, please.

It was found in the Houston Chronicle article you linked. Sorry I'm not up on the html tags.

Ah, so it was. I didn't notice that gray box to the side. Thanks for pointing that out; I've wanted to link it. Nothing about the article shows that this is merely a political hack job, as the anonymouse above said, which is hardly surprising. I'm glad to have a copy of the indictment, though, so thanks.
