Record voter turnout in Connecticut
The Hartford Courant is reporting record voter turnout in Connecticut. This certainly bodes well for the five Democratic House candidates running this year, including the three candidates who are challenging Republican incumbents Chris Shays, Nancy Johnson and Rob Simmons.
But what's even more significant is what this might mean for Ned Lamont, who's most likely the recipient of all this enthusiasm. Could this knock Joe Lieberman out? I'd say it's going to help. No guarantees, though. We'll know when the votes are counted (which usually happens correctly in Connecticut.)
There are a few regular readers of True or Better who come in from Connecticut, and I know you're out there. So if you're reading this, stop reading and get to the polls! Straight Democratic! (And Lieberman doesn't count!)
Of course, if you've already voted for Ned Lamont, you may go about your business. And if you've voted for Joe Lieberman, go crawl into a dark space and stay there until I forgive you. If Lieberman wins, it's going to be a while.
